Welcome to the Guitar Spa
When do you think of going to a luthier? I've discovered that many people don't know what a luthier is, let alone think of approaching one! Those that do, think the time to visit is when your guitar has catastrophic damage, a broken headstock, a lifting bridge, broken machine heads, etc. I'd like to introduce you to The Guitar Spa.
The Guitar Spa, like a personal spa, is a place to go for refreshment and rejuvenation. Musical instruments require regular maintenance if they are to play their best and even the best musicians can't make a poorly maintained instrument sound good. So what treatments and services are available at The Guitar Spa? everything from a string change, a clean and polish, to more major surgery, such as a replacing the frets.
This week two clients have attended the spa, a Taylor TZ5, in for a restring and a fret polish, and an old Hofner acoustic, in need of new machine heads and strings.
The Taylor looks and plays beautifully, with it's shiny chrome work. Approximately 2 hours work, to polish up the body, pickup and frets, change the strings and check and adjust the setup for the new string gauge.
The Hofner's new machine heads, freshly strung. You don't often see a zero fret these days and I love the laminated nut effect.
So Luthiers are not just for major emergencies, your guitar deserves love and care and it will reward you with improved playability and sound.
I'm releasing a new website over this weekend, to advertise The Guitar Spa services, why not check them out and book the one you love, the one with the strings and fretwork, in for a Guitar Spa Day!
Have a great week,
Richard
