Let it cook

Steam Box

This is a steam box. The basic idea is to connect it to a large kettle (designed for steam cleaning etc.) and place thin strips of wood in it, until they are hot and flexible. Once flexible, they get bent over a mold and become, in my case, guitar sides.

One of the keys to success in wood bending is to allow long enough for the wood to get thoroughly hot and flexible, essentially to "Let it cook".

The same advice applies to marketing. Over the last few weeks, avid readers of this blog will know that I've launched the new website. I've also been busy configuring the Google back ends around "My Business" and "Search". The final pieces of that particular puzzle are "Google Ads" and "Google Analytics", those finally went into place over the weekend. With that done it was time to "Let it cook". I'm happy to report that my baking worked well, and I can see traffic flowing to and through the website from clicks in Google search. Flush with this success I moved onto Facebook ads and happily a few days of "cooking" has led to new business for the coming month.

So, if you have been liking, following, commenting or sharing, a big Thank You to you all.

One of the Facebook posts you may have seen is this one. Over the Summer months Wellington gets quite quiet and so gift vouchers help to fill in the gap left by active work. If you know a guitarist, but don't know what to buy them for Christmas, I can assure you that they love spending money on their guitars, especially other people's money 😉
